Rabat!The Moroccan capital surprised me for good Rabat!The Moroccan capital surprised me for good, I was not expecting it to be so pretty.This is an interesting Unesco World Heritage Site as it includes not only the old Medina and the Kasbah but also the new town from the early 20th century. Rabat is lauded by its pioneering approach to town planning which carefully preserves historic monuments and traditional housing.I was not expecting this. Welcome to Essaouira 🇲🇦For the past week I Welcome to Essaouira 🇲🇦For the past week I’ve been wandering around the labyrinthine Medina and the nearby sand dunes. I fell in love with Ubud!It doesn’t happen tha I fell in love with Ubud!It doesn’t happen that often. Still waking up from two wonderful weeks in Bali 🏝️The first part of the trip was in Uluwatu which is full of beautiful beaches and far from the most touristy areas. To arrive to some beaches you have to hike a little so that helps with keeping the masses away. Goa lived it up to the expectations!What I was c Goa lived it up to the expectations!What I was craving the most for this trip was just to chill and relax in excess. Morning and afternoon swims, delicious food, beautiful views, nice people, no crowds. All was here in Palolem and Patnam beaches.Fun fact: Goa is actually a region, not a beach. With the northern part being more of a party area and the southern more chilled, which is where I went.This is it for my little 2-weeks holiday in India, it has been a great introduction to this huge country. As many others, this is a country of extreme contrasts for good and for bad, but I leave with a big smile and many great memories and will surely come back someday to experience other regionsUntil the next adventure!#goa #indiatravels #solobackpacker #moreadventurestocome #planetofadventures
My days in Hampi are coming to an end, what a plac My days in Hampi are coming to an end, what a place!The mix of nature with history is something I really like and this place combines both perfectly.There are more than 1600 remains of the last great Hindu kingdom in South India so there were definitely times when I enjoyed more walking around the boulders than visiting yet another temple/ruin as there are simply too many. In a way it reminded me of Bagan in Myanmar as I also got an overdose of history there. A bit more of India to share 😎#hampi #unescoworldheritage #ancientruins #beautifulnature #planetofadventures
I’ve been a few days in Hampi now, this used to I’ve been a few days in Hampi now, this used to be the world’s second largest city in the early 1500s and with its size come loads and loads of temples and ruins to visit.Hampi was the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire from 1336 to 1565, when it was abandoned after being conquered and destroyed by a coalition of Muslim sultanates.There are more than 1,600 surviving remains of the last great Hindu kingdom in South India, now a Unesco World Heritage Site.A few more pics will come as there are too many places to show!#hampi #unescoworldheritagesite #indiatravels #solobackpacker #planetofadventures
Waking up at 5am to see the sunrise on top of a hi Waking up at 5am to see the sunrise on top of a hill? Oh yes! 🙌Matanga Hill is a holy site for Hinduism and (apparently) it’s the site where the first solidified rocks in all of India were found.The climb is pretty short, just 15min or so from the center of Hampi, from the top there are beautiful views of the entire region and countless temples which I’ll post about soon! 🛕#hampi #sunriseoftheday #indiatravels #solobackpacker #planetofadventures
What an experience to take part in the Holi celebr What an experience to take part in the Holi celebration in Hampi!The festival of colour and happiness marks the arrival of Spring and the end of Winter. On this day, young and old alike play with colours and waterHoli holds great significance for Hindus. It is the second biggest festival for Hindus after Diwali.The locals were incredibly friendly to the few foreigners around, inviting us to dance and be part of their festival.
